I hate being called Gerald because Jerry makes me sound young. I want to be an actor, an ESPN anchor, a stand-up comedian, a musician, a bartender and a history teacher who makes gaming content for money. John Kasich is my homeboy because we both never win anything. I used to have a World Record for beating a video game faster than anyone else. I have a history degree and worry every day that I made the wrong choice. I have finished my Masters!

Filmvestigate has been an idea I’ve wanted to delve into for a while now. I’ve always loved talking about film, anime, games, and basically every other sort of media that I take in. I find regular reviews boring and want to know more about why. Why do we like things? Why does this film do this? Is it effective?

My goal with Filmvestigate is to figure out what makes the things we like tick. There will be everything from anime seasonal reviews, crowd sourced information about why we like something, and specific theme analysis of media of my choosing. I want to entertain, inform, and get my opinion and thoughts out there. Sometimes I can be long winded, and sometimes I can be stubborn or straight up wrong, but as long as the readers can understand why I feel how I feel, then maybe I’m not doing something wrong after all. If this blog takes off, that’d be great. I’d love to do more writing for larger audiences. I’d love to get into freelancing. But if not, I feel this is therapeutic and cathartic for me. Overall it’s a win-win.
